Christian Arthaber

Christian Arthaber is the Chief Operating Officer of Central European University (CEU). Since having taken up the role in February 2022, he has been managing CEU's operations and overseeing its budget.
Before coming to CEU, Christian was Managing Director of the Austrian Institute for International Affairs (oiip). There, he oversaw the organization’s financial repositioning as well as standardized administrative functions and processes. He was simultaneously working in consultancy; during that time, he gained significant expertise and experience in the field of science and research as well as the higher education landscape.
